Citation Analysis with the Web of Science - Part II

Cited Reference Search in the Web of Science allows you to find and analyze citing references with more control. It is especially useful in finding articles that cite other articles incorrectly. In this video, I will show you how to do a cited reference search using the same example we used last time.

I will also show you how to use the new "Author Finder" interface to find and analyze citing references of articles written by a particular author to have a bird's eye view of how this author has been publishing and cited over the years.

Finally, I will talk briefly about the impact factors of journals and show you how to find a specific journal or a group of journals in a specific subject area with their impact factors.

I came across this just now and am really impressed with the quality of the movie and sound. Can I ask what you used to create these tutorials? Would you object if we put a link to the one on Cited References from our University of Hertfordshire MLE?

best wishes

Helen, thanks for the comment! Please feel free to link to any of the tutorials.

I used a program called Camtasia Studio (http://www.techsmith.com/) to create these tutorials. Of course you will need some decent computer and audio recording hardware too to get good sound quality.
